This was the semi final with the winner (in this case, Andy Souwer) going on to fight Giorgio Petrosyan in the final. There was a lot of contraversy surrounding this fight as most people felt that Buakaw Por Pramuk should have won and advanced. Had the judges awarded him a decision, then he would have gotten a rematch with Petrosyan and seeing as how their last fight went to a draw, it would have been a close fight and likely a more competitive one than Souwer vs Petrosyan turned out to be.
